On 2 April, Jin Lei, Secretary of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, led a delegation to the International Mangrove Center (IMC).
At the IMC, Jin Lei received an update on the IMC's development and mangrove conservation efforts. He emphasized that the Shenzhen Municipal Government places great importance on mangrove conservation, and called for a sustained commitment to protecting this precious green oasis situated between the city and the sea, promoting harmony between humanity and nature, and fostering a greater sense of environmental well-being among residents.
He also expressed Shenzhen's commitment to supporting the IMC in its mission to become a world-class platform for ecological conservation, knowledge sharing, and international cooperation on mangrove management, and shared his hope that Shenzhen's experience and best practices could serve as a valuable reference for global mangrove conservation and sustainable development.
