Urban Planning and Natural Resources Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality (Forestry Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality) and Ocean Development Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality Visit International Mangrove Center

On January 8, 2026, a delegation from the Urban Planning and Natural Resources Bureau (Forestry Bureau) and Ocean Development Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality visited the International Mangrove Center (IMC) and held a working meeting with the IMC Interim Secretariat. Discussion focused on strengthening cooperation mechanisms to jointly advance the Center's development and identifying key work priorities for 2026.

Mr. Xu Songming, Director General of the Urban Planning and Natural Resources Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, highlighted the recent launch of the "Mangrove+" Initiative by the Shenzhen Municipal Government. The Initiative aims to promote mangrove conservation and sustainable development by integrating ecological, economic and social considerations into comprehensive planning. He expressed the willingness to further strengthen collaboration between both sides in the new year.

Professor Bao Daming, Director General of the IMC Interim Secretariat, welcomed the delegation and summarized the IMC's achievements in 2025, accomplished with the strong support of the Urban Planning and Natural Resources Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality. He also expressed the intention to continue work closely with both bureaus to implement key tasks for 2026 and establish a long-term, sustainable cooperation mechanism.
