Society of Entrepreneurs and Ecology Foundation Visits International Mangrove Center to Advance Mangrove Conservation and Global Cooperation

On December 19, 2025, the delegations from the SEE Foundation (Society of Entrepreneurs and Ecology Foundation) visited the Interim Secretariat of the International Mangrove Center (IMC). The two sides exchanged views on mangrove conservation and restoration, existing international mangrove conservation actions, blue carbon methodology development, and opportunities for future international cooperation.

Professor BAO Daming, the Director General of the IMC Interim Secretariat, welcomed the SEE Foundation delegations and provided an overview of the Center’s development, key focus areas, and current work activities. He emphasized that effective mangrove conservation and restoration requires public participation and multi-stakeholder engagement. Professor Bao reaffirmed the IMC’s commitment to working closely with the SEE Foundation, private sectors, and other partners on joint projects and activities to support global mangrove protection.

Professor YANG Biao, the Secretary General of the SEE Foundation, shared the SEE Foundation’s work in blue carbon methodology research and standard-setting, mangrove conservation, and marine ecosystem protection. Professor Yang also expressed interest in future collaboration with the IMC to jointly promote the recognition of mangrove ecological value and strengthen aligned international environmental action.

The meeting established a constructive foundation for future cooperation. Both sides agreed to enhance communication and collaboration, explore joint mechanisms for knowledge sharing and project implementation in mangrove conservation and restoration, and contribute to the global scientific protection of mangrove ecosystems and climate governance.
